A short walk through the Forest of Mercia, formerly Beacon Regional Park (not to be mistaken for the much more famous Brecon Beacons in South Wales). This Beacon Way starts from the outskirts of Birmingham. It is named after Barr Beacon, a place where beacon fires were once lit. The trail connects to the Heart of England Way, and runs along forests, parks, farmland, canals and lakesides.
