Nord-Trøndelag, northeast of Trondheim, is a continuation of the Sylan region. The area is characterised by mountain plateaus and lakes. Towards the coast, the Trondheimsfjord creates a more mountainous landscape, with rounded mountains and wooded slopes.

A string of self-service huts, hotels and cairned routes along the border with Sweden allow us to make a comfortable mountain tour in an open landscape.
